
The Toledo Walleye are bringing back defenseman Brendon Michaelian for the 2025–26 season, the team announced today.
Back on the Blue Line
Michaelian was a key part of the Walleye’s defensive unit last season. He appeared in 72 regular-season games, recording five goals, 10 assists, and 15 points while racking up 26 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, he added one assist in 19 games, helping Toledo advance through the postseason.
A Familiar Face in Toledo
This will mark Michaelian’s third season in Toledo. During the 2023–24 season, he split time between the Fayetteville Marksmen (SPHL) and the Walleye. While with Fayetteville, he tallied two goals and 10 assists in 22 games before joining Toledo, where he contributed a goal and six assists in 29 regular-season games. He also notched two assists in 14 playoff games that year.
Michaelian’s Collegiate Career
Before turning pro, Michaelian played NCAA hockey at Robert Morris University, Ferris State, and Mercyhurst. Across his collegiate career, he totaled 23 points over 143 games. His standout season came in 2020–21, when he served as alternate captain for Robert Morris and recorded 15 points in 24 games.
