The Orlando Solar Bears are bringing back a familiar face. Center Carson Focht, 25, will return to the lineup for the 2025-26 season, ready to make an impact from opening night.

From WHL Standout to NHL Draft Pick

Focht’s path to Orlando started in the WHL, where he split time between the Tri-City Americans and Calgary Hitmen. His offensive game exploded in Calgary—he racked up 64 points in 2018-19 and followed it with 56 points as an alternate captain the next season. That production caught the attention of the Vancouver Canucks, who selected him in the fifth round (133rd overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft.

Climbing the Pro Ranks

Turning pro in 2020-21, Focht immediately showcased his versatility. He suited up in the AHL with the Utica Comets, Abbotsford Canucks, and Henderson Silver Knights, proving he could compete at a high pace against top-tier talent. In the ECHL, he became a reliable presence for the Florida Everblades, Kalamazoo Wings, and Tulsa Oilers—adding scoring depth and a strong two-way game wherever he played.

Across his AHL career, Focht has appeared in 74 AHL games, recording nine goals, 15 assists, and 24 points while logging 74 penalty minutes.

Making His Mark in Orlando

Focht joined Orlando late last season and wasted no time contributing, picking up two points (1G, 1A) in just seven games. His quick adjustment to the team’s systems, combined with his faceoff strength and defensive responsibility, made him a valuable asset down the stretch.

Now, with a full season ahead, Carson Focht is set to bring energy, experience, and an all-around game that can help Orlando in all situations—from key defensive draws to power-play setups.

The Orlando Solar Bears open their 2025-26 campaign on Friday, October 17, hosting the Florida Everblades at Kia Center. Puck drop is 7:00 PM EDT, and Focht will be ready to help set the tone.
