On August 1, 2023, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, ECHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, announced that forward Carter Souch has re-signed for the 2023-2024 season. Souch is a current 21-year-old who will be turning 22 a day after the season starts. Souch spent his rookie season with the Swamp Rabbiits last year, appearing in 64 games. Souch also made three appearances in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Souch had an impressive rookie season posting 28 points (nine goals and 19 assists). Souch was also a contributor come playoff time adding three points (two goals and one assist) in the three games he played.

Before joining the Swamp Rabbits last year, Souch spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League. Playing for his hometown team the Edmonton Oil Kings. His most productive season being the 2021-2022 season where Souch contributed 71 points (22 goals and 49 assists) in the 68 games that he played. Along with the great regular season Souch had for the Oil Kings, Souch matched his regular season performance in the playoffs, appearing in 19 games and adding 21 points (nine goals and 12 assists). The Oil Kings would win the WHL Championship that year.

With the known losses to this years Greenville team, including top players from last year Alex Ierullo and Bret Kemp. One would think that Souch will have an even bigger role going into this year. Continuing to make waves and add his name as one of the top forwards in the league. The Swamp Rabbits will begin the regular season on October 21, 2023, when they take on the Norfolk Admirals at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
