The Jacksonville Icemen have announced that they have signed forward Chase Lang to a contract for the 2024-25 season. This will be Lang’s second stint with the Icemen after spending the 2019-20 season with the team, during which time he scored a career-high 19 goals and 29 assists for 48 points and led the Icemen in scoring. Lang, who will be entering his eighth season in the ECHL, has put up 60 goals and 79 assists for 139 points in 246 games while spending time with the Quad City Mallards, Rapid City Rush, Allen Americans, Norfolk Admirals , and Indy Fuel. He added a goal and two assists for three points in seven career Kelly Cup Playoff Games. The former sixth-round pick of the Minnesota Wild in 2014 has also played in 36 career AHL games with the Iowa Wild and Chicago Wolves, putting up two goals and three assists for five points.
Prior to beginning his pro career, Lang spent four seasons in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen and Vancouver Giants, putting up 66 goals and 89 assists for 155 points in 244 games. This is a solid signing for the Icemen as Lang hopes to regain the offensive spark he had when he was with the Icemen, but he will also add some grit as he’s racked up nearly 100+ PIM in two of his last three seasons in the ECHL. The 6’1, 194lb forward becomes the 10th signing for the Icemen this season, with all but two of their signings being forwards.
