ECHL: Cincinnati Cyclones Acquire Forward from Worcester Railers

Rich LeBlanc/InsideTheRink

The Cincinnati Cyclones have acquired 26-year-old forward Keeghan Howdeshell from the Worcester Railers today in exchange for future considerations. Last season, he scored 22 points in 67 total games played with the Railers. Over his ECHL career, he has played for a total of five teams (soon to be six): Worcester Railers, Rapid City Rush, Toledo Walleye, Jacksonville Icemen, and Kansas City Mavericks where he’s put up 48 goals and 73 assists for 121 points in 231 regular season games in the ECHL. He played in three Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Mavericks in 2023 but failed to find the scoresheet. For Worcester, this is the second trade they’ve made this week after acquiring goaltender Michael Bullion and Jordan Kaplan from the Savannah Ghost Pirates for future considerations.

He is a Michigan native and stands at 6 foot 1, weighing 205 lbs. Growing up in Michigan, he played for Compuware AAA, Muskegon Lumberjacks, and the Soo Greyhounds, where he was the Assistant Captain in his second season. He amassed 113 points over two years with the Greyhounds, including a 46-goal season in 2018-19 as he led the Greyhounds in goals and then entered his professional career, playing his first game with the Tuscon Roadrunners of the AHL. He has played a total of three AHL games and shows a lot of promise to be back one day. He will bring more depth to Cincinnati, likely in the bottom six, where he can hopefully develop his game even further.
