ECHL: Cincinnati Cyclones Forward Loaned to Belleville Senators

Tristan Ashbrook, forward for the Cincinnati Cyclones, was loaned to the Belleville Senators of the AHL North Division earlier today. This season, he has been solid for the Cyclones, netting 15 goals and adding nine assists, putting up a plus/minus of -4. He’s been all over this season, bouncing between the ECHL and AHL, playing two games with the Cleveland Monsters and four with the Iowa Wild, where he managed just one assist.

Most of Ashbrook’s time this season has been spent on the top two lines for Cincinnati, often taking on the Center role alongside LW Dante Sheriff and RW Lincoln Griffin. This line has brought a veteran touch, with Griffin contributing with 13 goals and 18 assists over 48 games, making him the second-highest scorer on the team, just behind rookie Chas Sharpe, who leads with 32 points.

Ashbrook’s stint in Cincinnati began last August when he was traded from the Adirondack Thunder, completing the Patrick Polino deal. His first full ECHL season was impressive in Adirondack, with 32 goals and 25 assists in 69 games. He also stepped up during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs, leading the Thunder with 16 points, eight goals and eight assists. Before that, he spent four years competing at the NCAA level, starting at RPI (ECAC) and finishing at Northern Michigan University (CCHA), where he accumulated 37 goals and 21 assists in 128 games. He also had a brief stint with the Savannah Ghost Pirates in 2023, picking up an assist in five games.

Now, Ashbrook will be joining the Belleville Senators, who currently sit at 21-16-3-4 (49 points) and are in sixth place in the North Division. He’s expected to add a bit of forward depth to Belleville’s lineup, but he’ll likely return to Cincinnati soon. The Cyclones will certainly need his experience in their top six as they push for a playoff spot, especially with the race for the final Central Division spot still wide open.
