
The Cincinnati Cyclones have named Louie Caporusso as the team’s new assistant coach, following the relief of duties for head coach Jayson Payne and assistant coach Chad MacLeod on April 23rd. This will be his first time behind the bench. Caporusso appeared in just two games last season for the Cyclones. The Toronto, Ontario, native had spent the last four seasons with Cincinnati, where he put up 55 goals and 111 assists for 166 points in 177 games.
Louie Caporusso spent parts of his first three professional seasons in North America, seeing time in both the ECHL and AHL. During his time in the AHL, he played in 36 games with the Binghampton Senators, where he recorded a goal and five assists for six points. The majority of his ECHL career would come as a member of the Elmira Jackals. In 70 games with the Jackals, he put up 35 goals and 42 assists for 77 points. He would add two goals and six assists for eight points in six playoff games. Caporusso played in 24 games with the Reading Royals during the 2013-14 season, where he put up seven goals and 21 assists for 28 points before heading overseas.

Playing Career
Caporusso spent parts of seven seasons playing overseas. The majority of his time overseas was spent in DEL, as he played for the Augsburger Panthers and Iserlohn Roosters. In 218 games in the DEL, he put up 78 goals and 104 assists for 182 points. He would add two goals and two assists for four points in six playoff games. Caprousso would have a short stint in the SHL during the 2017-18 season, playing in just seven games with Brynäs IF in the SHL, where he put up one assist. He finished his overseas career in Italy, where he put up nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 26 games with Asiago. He would take the 2020-21 season off before joining the Cyclones.
