The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced they have re-signed rookie defenseman Andrew Noel for the 2025-26 season. Noel,24, made his ECHL debut at the end of last season, racking up 31 PIMs in seven games. Despite being 6’1 “and 190lbs, Noel didn’t shy away from physicality, as he racked up 27 of his 31 PIMs in two games against the Iowa Heartlanders, including his first career fight. Expect him to bring more of that physicality to the Cyclones blueline next season. With the signing of Noel, the Cyclones now have three defensemen and seven players signed for the 2025-26 season.
Prior to joining the Cyclones, the Maynard, Massachusetts, native spent four seasons at the NCAA level with Ferris State University. In 88 games with the Bulldogs, he put up four goals and eight assists for 12 points.
“Andrew is a rugged shut down defenseman who adds toughness to our lineup and takes pride in being hard to play against,” said Cyclones Head Coach Riley Weselowski. “Over the course of a 72-game season, his playing style wears down opponents and creates space for his teammates. I have no doubt that Andrew will quickly become a fan favorite with Cyclones fans.”

Prior to playing at the NCAA level, Noel spent two years at the junior level. He spent his first season in the NAHL with the Maine Nordiques and served as the team’s alternate captain. In 56 games with the Nordiques, he put up two goals and 13 assists for 15 points. He would add a goal and two assists for three points in 10 playoff games. Noel spent his second season in the BCHL with the Nanaimo Clippers, where he put up seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points. He would lead all Clippers’ defensemen in goals (7) and PIMs (55) during the 2021-22 season. In 16 playoff games, he would put up six assists as the Clippers reached the Fred Page Cup Finals in 2022.
