ECHL: Cincinnati Cyclones Transactions | 12/22/2024

The Cincinnati Cyclones (5-16-4) completed multiple transactions on Sunday, December 22, following a split series against the Kalamazoo Wings over the weekend. Last week, the Cyclones had a stacked schedule, playing two home games against the Iowa Heartlanders on Monday and Tuesday, followed by two road games in Kalamazoo on Friday and Saturday. They ended the week with a record of 2-1-1, earning five points in the standings, which included two wins in regulation and one loss in overtime. However, they remain in last place in the Western Conference, trailing the Utah Grizzlies by three points, with a total of 14 points.

The Cyclones will now take a holiday break before returning to the Heritage Bank Center on Friday, December 27, to host the Wheeling Nailers. That game will begin at 7 p.m. ET and can be streamed on FloHockey and the Cyclones Radio Network on Mixlr. Also, it will be $2 Beer Night for fans in attendance at HBC.

Added:

Tristan Ashbrook, F: loaned by the Iowa Wild (AHL)

Ashbrook has been up and down from the AHL many times this season, seeing time with the Cleveland Monsters and Iowa Wild. With Cincinnati this season, he has scored five goals and five assists, putting up a -7 +/- stat through 15 games played.

Mason McCarty, F: moved from three-day Injured Reserve to fourteen-day Injury Reserve

In 22 games played, McCarty has scored two goals and tallied one assist, while posting a -7 +/- stat. It is not a good sign seeing him head from three-day IR to fourteen-day IR, but I am unsure what the extent of the problem is for the 27-year-old forward. Hopefully, we will see him back on the ice soon, along with veteran Louie Caporusso, who also headed back to the fourteen-day IR last week.
