The Cincinnati Cyclones completed the following transactions earlier today, ahead of their Friday home matchup against the Toledo Walleye. As of March 11th, the Cyclones sit in last place in the Central Division at 22-26-9-0, two points behind the Bloomington Bison for the fourth and final playoff spot.

Andrew Noel Signed from Ferris State Bulldogs
The Cyclones inked Andrew Noel, fresh off his collegiate career at Ferris State University. Noel’s time at Ferris State may not have been flashy on the scoresheet—just 12 points across four NCAA seasons—but he’s the kind of player who brings grit and steadiness to the blue line. His senior season wasn’t just about hockey, it was also the final season for legendary head coach Bob Daniels.
Most recently, Ferris State’s season came to an end in the CCHA Mason Cup Quarterfinals, where they were swept by the St. Thomas Tommies in a best-of-three series. Noel will now look to transition to the professional level, though he’s already been placed on reserve—a move that could help him adjust to the pace of the ECHL.
Ashbrook Returned from AHL Loan
Tristan Ashbrook has returned to the Cyclones after a month up in the AHL on a loan. In addition to his AHL appearances with the Providence Bruins (2 games, 1 assist), Ashbrook has also spent time with the Iowa Wild, Cleveland Monsters, and Belleville Senators this season. Despite the constant movement, he has proven himself a reliable offensive contributor, tallying 15 goals and 9 assists in 35 games with Cincinnati this season.

Sheriff Activated from Reserve
It’s all systems go for Sheriff, who has been activated from reserve. Sheriff has been a key contributor for the Cyclones this season, and his stats tell the story: in 25 games, he’s put up 9 goals and 13 assists for a total of 22 points, with a +3 rating. Sheriff has also notched 2 power-play goals, proving he’s a threat in special teams situations on the top power play unit for Jason Payne’s group.
Kressler placed on 3-day IR
Kressler hits the 3-day injured reserve list, giving the young forward some time to recover. Known for his speed and relentless forechecking, the Cyclones will hope he’s back at full strength in no time. This season, he has scored nine goals and dished 13 assists for a total of 22 points through 25 games played.

Portillo Placed on Reserve
The Cyclones have placed Portillo on reserve, but his presence on the roster is still significant. Known as an enforcer, Portillo has made a name for himself as a player who isn’t afraid to drop the gloves to protect his teammates. This season, he’s logged 26 games with the Athens Rock Lobsters in the FPHL before his call-up to the ECHL, where he tallied five assists and racked up 136 penalty minutes. Portillo’s physicality and willingness to stand up for his team were on full display in a recent fight against the Adirondack Thunder a couple of Sundays ago. His grit and toughness make him a valuable asset, especially in games where the Cyclones need a spark or a show of strength, despite the lack of production offensively.
