ECHL: Connor Russell Agrees to Terms with the Jacksonville Icemen

Defenseman Connor Russell has agreed to terms for the 2024-25 season and will hit the ice once again for the Jacksonville Icemen. Recognized for his defensive skill and adaptability, Russell has demonstrated exceptional skating, physicality, and defensive capabilities.

In the 2021-22 season, Russell appeared in 28 games for the Iowa Heartlanders, providing 5 assists, totaling 5 points, accumulating 54 penalty minutes. He also played 6 games for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

The following season, Russell showcased his skills across four different teams in various leagues. With the Jacksonville Icemen he played 16 games, scoring an assist and accumulating 19 penalty minutes. He played eight games with the South Carolina Stingrays, ending with a -4 plus/minus. His stint with the Huntsville Havoc (SPHL) saw him playing 14 games, contributing an assist, and achieving a +11 plus/minus. Lastly, he had five games with the Iowa Heartlanders (ECHL), ending with a -2 plus/minus rating.

In the 2023-24 season with the Jacksonville Icemen, Russell participated in 61 games, scoring a goal and providing 12 assists for a total 13 points. He also accumulated 80 penalty minutes and had a plus/minus rating of +4 at the conclusion of the season.

The Icemen kick off the 2024-25 season at home against the Florida Everblades on Saturday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m.
