
Norfolk Admirals defenseman Darick Louis-Jean is heading back home to Canada to join the Laval Pètroliers of the LNAH after spending parts of the last four years in the ECHL. In 70 games last season, Louis-Jean had four goals and 25 assists for 29 points. He would add three goals and two assists for five points in 11 games during the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Louis-Jean is the second player to leave the Admirals this off-season, joining Filip Fornaa Svensson, who went back home to Sweden.
During his ECHL career, Darick Louis-Jean spent time with the Trois-Rivières Lions, Iowa Heartlanders, Savannah Ghost Pirates, and Norfolk Admirals. The Montreal native has put up 15 goals and 58 assists for 73 points during his time in the ECHL. Louis-Jean would be named to the ECHL All-Star team in 2023, a year in which he had two goals and 13 assists for 15 points in 56 games. He would also put up four goals and four assists in 21 career Kelly Cup Playoff games. The 24-year-old defenseman also saw 13 games in the SPHL during the 2021-22 season, where he put up two goals and seven assists for nine points as a member of the Quad City Storm.
Junior Career
Prior to going pro, Louis-Jean spent three seasons in the QMJHL, primarily with the Gatineau Olympiques, playing in 129 games with the club. He also played nine games with the Rimouski Oceanic. During his QMJHL career, Louis-Jean would put up three goals and eight assists for 11 points in 137 career games. His only QMJHL playoff experience would come in his first year with the Olympiques, where he had one assist in five playoff games.
