Andrew Fielder/InsideTheRink

Jacksonville Icemen forward Davis Koch is heading back overseas to Germany to join EC Bad Nauheim of the DEL2. In 70 games with the Icemen last season, the Surrey, BC native had 13 goals and 30 assists for 40 points. Koch finished the year tied for third in assists (30) and fifth in pointd among the Icemen. He added one assist over the course of his three Kelly Cup Playoff Games. Koch is the first member of the Icement to take the overseas route this off-season I wouldn’t be shocked if he wansn’t the last player from the Icemen to head overseas. Davis Koch, 26, has spent the last two seasons in the ECHL with the Icemen and Iowa Heartlanders, putting up 28 goals and 42 assists in 106 ECHL Games. He saw two games of action at the AHL level with the Iowa Wild during the 2023-24 season.

This isn’t the first time Koch has played in Germany as he spent five seasons in the DEL2 where he put up 33 goals and 63 assists for 96 points in 140 games. He also played 28 games at the DEL level where he had four and four assists for eight points. Prior to beginning his career in Germany, Koch spent parts of six seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings and Vancouver Giants. In 319 WHL games, he had 91 goals and 164 assists for 255 points. He led the Oil Kings in points (70) during the 2017-18 season and the Oil Kings in points during the 2016-17 season.
