ECHL: Fines and Suspensions | 11/17/2024

The ECHL Department of Player Safety announced that both Jacob Hudson from Maine and Ben Hawerchuk from South Carolina have each received a five-game suspension and an undisclosed fine due to their involvement in the game between South Carolina and Maine on Saturday, November 16th. These penalties are in accordance with Rule #70.4 and Rule #70.10, which address leaving the penalty box to participate in an altercation.

Hudson’s suspension will mean he will miss Maine’s upcoming game against South Carolina on November 17th, the game against Worcester on November 20th, Reading on November 23rd, and Norfolk on both November 27th and November 29th.

South Carolina will be without Hawerchuk for the upcoming games against Maine on November 17th, Greenville on November 22nd, Adirondack on November 23rd and 24th, as well as Jacksonville on November 27th.

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, fines imposed by the ECHL are designated for the PHPA’s ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
