ECHL Fines and Transactions

The ECHL Department of Player Safety had announced the fines and suspensions listed below for several players due to their actions in recent games. 

Kelly Bent (Orlando) 

Kelly Bent from Orlando received a fine for an undisclosed amount for his actions in the game with Florida on December 28. This fine was issued under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline for his actions at 18:40 of the third period of the game against Florida.

Nico Blachman (Iowa) 

Nico Blachman from Iowa has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount following his actions against the Wheeling Nailers on December 28. He was penalized under Rule #28 for an unpenalized slew-footing incident that occurred at 7:53 of the first period. Consequently, Blachman will miss Iowa’s game against Wheeling today, December 29th.

Connor Doherty (Florida) 

Connor Doherty from Florida has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount due to his conduct during the match against Wheeling on December 28. His suspension and fine are a result of Rule #46.22, as he received a game misconduct for being the aggressor in the last five minutes of regulation at 18:40 of the third period. Consequently, Doherty will miss Florida’s game against Orlando on Monday, December 30.

According to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, all player fines collected by the ECHL are directed to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
