ECHL Fines and Suspensions: Kile Hit with Extra Game; Kennedy and Iverson Suspended Following Sunday Action

ECHL Fines and Transactions

The ECHL Department of Player Safety has announced disciplinary action following recent games involving player Alex Kile from the Florida Everblades, Spencer Kennedy from the Kalamazoo Wings, and Keegan Iverson of the Tulsa Oilers. These penalties come under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline and include a series of suspensions and fines stemming from on-ice incidents during early April.

Florida Everblades’ Alex Kile Suspended for Additional Game

Florida Everblades forward Alex Kile has received a one-game suspension in addition to time already served, following his ejection the game against Savannah Ghost Pirates on April 4. Alex Kile was assessed a game misconduct at 6:22 of the third period and was suspended under Rule #28. Alex Kile has already missed Florida’s game at Savannah on April 5 and will also sit out the April 9 matchup against the Atlanta Gladiators.

Kalamazoo Wings’ Spencer Kennedy Suspended and Fined Following Game Misconduct

Spencer Kennedy of the Kalamazoo Wings has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in the game against the Bloomington Bison on April 6, 2025.

Kennedy was penalized under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline following a series of infractions late in the first period. At 19:46, he received a minor for interference, a major for fighting, and a game misconduct as the aggressor after a physical altercation with Bloomington’s Josh Murray. The penalties amounted to 17 penalty minutes, leaving Kalamazoo short-handed in a tightly contested matchup.

Spencer Kennedy’s early exit impacted the Wings, who eventually fell 4–3 despite outshooting Bloomington 46–35. Kalamazoo’s offense, led by Lucas Morgan, Zach Okabe, and Josh Bloom, couldn’t overcome a second-period surge from the Bison.

As a result of the suspension, Kennedy will miss Kalamazoo’s upcoming game at Indy on April 11.

Tulsa Oilers’ Keegan Iverson Suspended and Fined for High-Sticking Incident

Keegan Iverson of the Tulsa Oilers has been suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount following a high-sticking infraction in the game against the Idaho Steelheads on April 6, 2025. The incident, which occurred at 12:38 of the third period, went unpenalized during the game but was later reviewed and addressed under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Iverson finished with a -3 rating and collected four penalty minutes, including a boarding minor at 9:42 of the third period, shortly before the infraction that led to his suspension. His penalty added to the Oilers’ penalty woes in a game where both teams tallied 10 penalty minutes each. The Oilers fell 5–2 to Idaho and Tulsa was heavily outshot in the third period, managing only three shots on goal compared to Idaho’s 16.

As a result, Iverson will miss Tulsa’s game at Allen on April 9, along with two additional contests, as he serves out the three-game suspension.
