ECHL: Florida Everblades Lose Josling, Re-Sign Rookie Forward

The Florida Everblades will be without a key piece of their 2023-24 team as Sean Josling is heading overseas to play in Slovakia after spending four years in the ECHL. Josling began his career with the Wheeling Nailers before being traded to the Florida Everblades in March 2023. The 25-year-old forward has put up 63 goals and 81 assists for 144 points in 202 regular season games. He’s added 19 goals and 18 assists in 37 points in 56 career Kelly Cup Playoff Games and has won two Kelly Cup Championships with the Everblades. The Toronto native has also played in 27 AHL games, splitting his time between the San Diego Gulls and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, putting up one goal and one assist.

Yesterday, the Everblades announced that they had re-signed rookie forward Isaac Nurse. The Hamilton, Ontario native joined the Everblades at the end of last year, playing in five games at the end of the regular season after finishing up four seasons in the OHL and another three seasons at the University of New Brunswick. In 84 games at New Brunswick, he put up 24 goals and 17 assists for 41 points. In four years with the Hamilton Bulldogs, he put up 50 goals and 42 assists for 92 points in 221 games and spent the final year in Hamilton as the team’s captain. Expect Nurse to be a depth piece for the Everblades next season. The 25-year-old has big family ties with his cousin, Darnell Nurse, of the Edmonton Oilers, and his sister, Sarah Nurse, from PWHL Toronto.
