The Florida Everblades have announced that they have re-signed goaltender David Tendeck for the 2024-25 season. The Everblades acquired Tendeck in a trade with Idaho Steelheads, and Tendeck went 3-0, with the Everblades posting a .099GAA and .972SV%. Heading into next season, Tendeck will likely be the backup to Cam Johnson, who is expected to come down from the Springfield Thunderbirds and carry the bulk of the load in net as he’s done for the past two years. He is the only goalie on the Everblades on an ECHL contract.
The 24-year-old goaltender is entering his fifth season in the ECHL. He’s put up a 34-44-5 record with a 3.33 GAA, .898SV%, and four shutouts in 89 games. He’s spent time with the Rapid City Rush, Atlanta Gladiators, Wheeling Nailers, Idaho Steelheads, and Florida Everblades. He’s also played in nine AHL games with the Tuscon Roadrunners, going 2-4-1 with a 2.64 GAA and a .914 SV%.
Prior to going pro, the North Vancouver native would spend parts of five seasons in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants, where he put up a 72-54-10 record with a 2.96 GAA, .905SV%, and ten shutouts. He would be named to the WHL West Second All-Star Team in 2018 after going 25-16-5 with a 3.02 GAA, .912 SV%, and three shutouts. Tendeck went 13-7 with a 2.65 GAA and. 907 SV% in 22 WHL Playoff Games. He would end up getting drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the sixth round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
