General Manager and Head Coach Brad Ralph agreed to terms with defensemen Scott Allan for the 2023-24 upcoming season today around 3:00. The 6’6″ blue liner heads to the sunshine state to help the Blades claim their defense the back-to-back championship title.
The 22-year-old made his first debut in the big leagues with the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL) last season, where he rifled off three goals and had five assists in his 45 games played. This was not the only statistic that made the defensemen stand out. In a Komets jersey, he totaled 57 penalty minutes in his 45 games. During the Kelly Cup Playoffs, however, he came short in tallies with zero points in the two games he dressed.
After spending four seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL), the Thornton, Colorado native played in British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the West Kelowna Warriors. While he spent two years with the team, the one to mention is his first year in the BCHL. In 2015, the Warriors and Allan were unstoppable, and they went on to win the League Championship, Western Canada Cup, and the Royal Bank Cup.
Continuing his career, Allan spent time at Concordia University of Edmonton (2017-2022), putting up 33 points in 89 games. He received an offer to play in the ECHL.
Allan is entering his second year of professional hockey and looking to prove he can hold the blue line while playing as a Blade. Catch the first game on the road at Amway Center, where the Florida Everblades take on the Orlando Solar Bears.
