ECHL: Florida Everblades Trade Forward To Worcester Railers

The Florida Everblades have traded forward Tyler Kobryn to the Worcester Railers; neither team has yet announced the return to Florida. Kobryn, 27, began the season in the SPHL with the Peoria Rivermen, putting up two goals and five assists for seven points in seven games. Since re-joining the Everblades, he’s put up two goals and two assists for four points in 18 games, including goals in his first two games of the season. He has not played since January 4th due to an injury. Kobryn spent three games with the Everblades last season.

Prior to going pro, Kobryn spent four seasons at Wesleyan University, where he put up 18 goals and 11 assists for 29 points in 89 games. He would win a NESCAC Championship with the Cardinals. The Hillsborough, NJ, native is in his fifth season in the ECHL as he’s spent time with the Tulsa Oilers, Atlanta Gladiators, Kalamazoo Wings, Indy Fuel, Reading Royals, and Florida Everblades. Kobryn played in two Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Royals in 2023. He’s put up 16 goals and 16 assists for 32 points in 145 games. This doesn’t come as a shock as the Railers have been retooling their roster in the last couple of weeks, adding guys like Benjamin Lindberg and Matt Ustaski to their roster. Kobryn will fit nicely in the middle six and add a bit more experience up front for the Railers moving forward. His brother Troy Kobryn is a goalie in the SPHL with the Huntsville Havoc.
