The Florida Everblades have announced a couple of moves prior to tonight’s game vs South Carolina Stingrays, including signing defenseman Kade Landry to an ECHL contract and activating Alex Kile off the three-day IR. Landry would be placed on reserve by the team after being signed, and the Everblades would also place Connor Doherty on the three-day IR.
Landry, 25, began the season in Sweden, putting up two assists in nine games. Prior to playing in Sweden, the Wallance, Ontario native spent parts of five seasons in the OHL with the Barrie Colts and Hamilton Bulldogs where he put up 15 goals and 118 assists for 133 points in 248 games. Landry would win an OHL Championship with the Bulldogs in 2018. He then spent three years at the University of New Brunswick, where he scored 11 goals and added 57 assists for 68 points in 84 games and won three straight USports Championships.
Alex Kile will return to the lineup for the Everblades after missing the last three games with an injury. The 30-year-old forward has already found the scoresheet with the Everblades as he picked up an assist in the team’s first game of the season and will be a huge boost to an Everblades team that has gone 4-0 to start the season after winning their third straight Kelly Cup Championship. Kile is coming off a career year with the Maine Mariners, where he put up 37 goals and 46 assists for 83 points in 67 games.
