The ECHL’s Department of Player Safety announced on Friday, April 5, 2025, that Florida Everblades forward Alex Kile has been suspended indefinitely and fined an undisclosed amount following a game misconduct penalty during Florida’s 5–4 comeback win over the Savannah Ghost Pirates on April 4, 2025.
Kile received a 10-minute game misconduct at 6:22 of the third period during a heated stretch of the game that involved multiple penalties and altercations. Kile was suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline, with further punishment pending a league hearing next week.
Before the ejection, Kile made his mark on the scoresheet, scoring a power-play goal at 2:37 of the second period—his 16th goal of the season. He finished the night with one goal, three shots on net, and 10 penalty minutes.
Despite losing Kile early in the third period, the Everblades pulled off a thrilling rally, scoring four goals in the final frame to erase a 3–0 deficit and defeat Savannah 5–4. Isaiah Nurse scored the game-winner with just two seconds left on the clock, silencing the crowd of 7,485 at Enmarket Arena.
Kile will miss tonight’s rematch (April 5) in Savannah while awaiting the results of the upcoming hearing. Under the terms of the ECHL’s collective bargaining agreement with the PHPA, any fines collected go toward the ECHL Player Hardship Fund.
Looking ahead, Florida returns to home ice next week for a three-game series against the Atlanta Gladiators at Hertz Arena—Wednesday, April 9 at 7:30 PM, Friday, April 11 at 7:30 PM, and Saturday, April 12 at 7:00 PM.
