ECHL: Fort Wayne Komets Sign Two Forwards

The Fort Wayne Komets have announced that they’ve signed forwards Matt Miller and Zach Jordan for the 2025-26 season. Fort Wayne now has 12 forwards and six defenseman signed for the 2025-26 season. Last year, the Komets brought 31 players to training camp.

Miller, 25, just finished his first full professional season as he put up 14 goals and 21 assists for 35 points in 69 games with the Reading Royals. He would add one assist in four games during the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs. He also played in two games at the AHL level with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Miller began his career in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the end of the 2023-24 season, where he had a goal in six games. He would also see action in two games with the Phantoms during the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs. Jordan is the 12th player in franchise history from Northern Indiana to dress for the Komets.

Prior to going pro, the Leo, Indiana, native spent his junior career in the USHL with the Sioux City Musketeers and Lincoln Stars. In 173 games, he would put up 33 goals and 37 assists for 70 points, and saw action in two USHL playoff games. He also saw a few short stints with the US National Development Team. Miller would then take the NCAA route, spending four years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In 127 games with the Mavericks, he would put 38 goals and 33 assists for 71 points.

Zach Jordan

Jordan, 28, began last season with the Jacksonville Icemen, where he put up 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points before being dealt to the Fort Wayne Komets. In 18 games with the Komets, he put up six goals and six assists for 12 points. He would add four goals and six assists for 10 points in 13 games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Collinsville, Illinois native, began his pro career in Slovakia, where he put up five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 17 games with DVTK Jeges medvék. During his five-year ECHL career, Jordan has spent time with the Kalamazoo Wings, Jacksonville Icemen, Indy Fuel, and Fort Wayne Komets. He’s put up 56 goals and 43 assists for 99 points in 174 career games. Jordan has four goals and eight assists in 12 career Kelly Cup Playoff games.

“Zach was a big part of our team last season going down the stretch. He also put up some solid numbers in the postseason, so he was another priority for us to bring back for this upcoming season,” said Kallechy.

Jordan has also seen time in the AHL, with the Cleveland Monsters, Hartford Wolf Pack, Rockford IceHogs, and Chicago Wolves. He’s put up eight goals and four assists for 12 points in 84 AHL games. Jordan’s last AHL appearance came during the 2023-24 season, where he played in 22 games with the Rockford and Chicago, putting up a goal and an assist.
