The Fort Wayne Komets have announced that they’ve signed forward Yanick Turcotte for the 2024-25 season. They’ve also signed defenseman Nick Parody and goaltender Francis Boisvert to try-out agreements.
Turcotte joins the Komets after playing in just four games with the Adirondack Thunder last season before heading overseas to Hungary. In 28 games with Ferencvarosi TC, he put up two goals and six assists for eight points, along with 140 penalty minutes. This is a huge signing by the Komets as they get someone to fill the void after Daniel Amesbury signed with the Kansas City Mavericks. Turcotte has put up six goals and 23 assists for 29 points, along with 607 minutes in penalties, while spending time with the Worcester Railers, South Carolina Stingrays, and Adirondack Thunder. He will have no problem throwing his body around or dropping the gloves and has more of an upside than Amesbury did.
Nick Parody joins the Komets after splitting last season between the SPHL and ECHL, putting up ten assists in 45 games with the Fayetteville Marksmen and putting up one assist in 10 games with the Rapid City Rush. The Harrisburg, PA native spent four years at the NCAA level, playing three years at Canisius College, putting up one assist in 22 games before spending his final year in the NCAA at Elmira College, where he had two goals and four assists for six points in 25 games. He would join the Marksmen for six games at the end of the 2022-23 season.
Boisvert joins the Komets after playing five years at the NCAA level. He played in 18 games in his first four years at Robert Morris University and failed to record a win. In his final year of eligibility, the Blainville, Quebec native went 3-4 with a 3.13 GAA, .926SV%, and one shutout. Boisvert also picked up an assist. He spent time with the Orlando Solar Bears last season but never saw any game action.
