The Adirondack Thunder were looking to change their luck as they’d begun their season-long road trip with a 1-3-1 record through the first five games. On Friday, it would be a fight that kicked off the game just five seconds in, and on Saturday Night, it would be Josh Filmon who got the party started with a goal just 1:01 after the opening faceoff. Adirondack would double their lead less than three minutes later as Andre Ghantous would throw a puck on net from the goal line as Ryan Francis would clean up the rebound for his ninth of the year. The Wheeling Nailers would get on the board on the PP as Matthew Quercia would pick up his rebound on a second attempt effort at the 6:50 mark, but just 1:19 later it Kishaun Gervais found the back of the net for his seventh of the season as the two teams combined for four goals in the first 8:09 of the 1st period. The scoring didn’t end there as Adirondack and Wheeling combined for seven goals in the opening 20 minutes, with the Thunder leading 5-2 after 20. It was the first time since December 23rd, 2022, that Adirondack had at least five goals or more in a period. Brendan Less would finish the period with three assists.

Adirondack would regain their three-goal lead as Greg Smith would find T.J. Friedmann to make it a 6-3 game. Darian Skeoch and Matthew Quercia would once again exchange blows at the 6:34 mark, including a solid landed punch by Skeoch. Both players would be assessed 10-minute misconducts, but Skoech took the extra two for roughing. Cole Tymkin would get notch his first pro goal and T.J. Friedmann picked up his third goal in his last two games. Tyler Brennan would stop 34 of the 38 shots he saw for his eighth win of the season.
