In an exciting showdown at Gas South Arena, the Atlanta Gladiators hosted the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Both teams were eager to secure a win, making for a thrilling game filled with some intense action and dramatic moments, especially heading into the final frame of the game.

The team recently faced a challenging situation with several players unavailable. Brenden Datema (D) was placed on the 3-day injured reserve, while Easton Armstrong (F) was moved from the 3-day to the 14-day injured reserve. Additionally, Eric Neiley (F) was listed on reserve, and Patriks Marcinkevics (F) remained on the 3-day injured reserve. Ethan Haider and Tyler Drevitch were also on IR.

On a positive note, Christian Hausinger (D) was activated from the 3-day injured reserve. The team also signed Simon Boyko and saw the return of Chad Nychuk from loan with the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL).

Period 1

The game kicked off with both teams displaying solid defense. Greenville’s Bryce Brodzinski broke the ice with a powerplay goal at 10:53, assisted by John Parker-Jones and Quinn Olson. This early lead energized the Swamp Rabbits, while Atlanta’s defense, led by Jeremy Hanzel and Andrew Jarvis, worked tirelessly to keep the score close. Dominiks Marcinkevics then gave the Gladiators the lead at 18:06.

To seal the victory, Dylan Carabia scored an empty-net goal at 19:13, assisted by Carson Denomie. Despite Greenville’s efforts, Atlanta’s defense, led by Jeremy Hanzel and Andrew Jarvis, held strong to secure the win.
