The Adirondack Thunder and Worcester Railers kicked off a three-in-three on Friday Night in Glens Falls. Adirondack would give up the opening goal as Matthew Kopperud cleaned up a rebound for his 16th of the season. The Thunder wouldn’t waste any time as Grant Loven fed Isaiah Fox in front to tie the game up. Just under halfway through the first period, Ryan Mahshie threw a giant hit on Brendan Less. Kishaun Gervais stood up for his teammate and dropped the gloves with Mahshie.

The Thunder get their first lead as Dennis Busby picked up his first career goal with a PP goal. Lars Ronde would feed Grant Loven as he drove to the net for his 10th of the season to give Adirondack a two-goal lead. We would have some more fireworks before the period. Isaiah Fox and Pito Walton dropped the gloves after Walton went for a knee-on-knee hit with Ryan Conroy, at the same time Matias Rajaniemi walked in and scored his 15th of the night to get the Railers within one. The last three goals of the period came 3:17 apart. Adirondack would hold a 3-2 lead after 20 minutes of play.

Adirondack would be forced to kill off the remaining 1:13 of the late Ryan Conroy slashing penalty to begin the second. The Thunder would finish the night 3/3 on the PK, and are now 10/10 in their last three games. Worcester would take advantage of a short-handed opportunity as Anthony Callin picked up his second goal of the night. The second period belonged to the Railers as they would outshoot the Thunder 18-6. Cole Donhauser netted his 10th of the season, and with less than 30 seconds left in the period, Callin added his second of the night. The Railers would hold a 5-3 lead heading into the third period.

In the third, the Adirondack Thunder attempted to battle back as they would hold the Railers to just four shots. Dan Ebrahim netted his first pro goal as the Thunder had pulled Brodeur for the extra attacker to make it a one-goal game. Three different Thunder players would pick up their first career points on Friday despite the 5-4 loss. Adirondack will now travel to Worcester to finish off the final two games of the weekend series. With the win, Worcester now sits in the fourth and final playoff spot in the North Division.
