The Jacksonville Icemen have signed rookie goaltender Cameron Rowe for the 2025–26 ECHL season, adding a proven winner between the pipes. Rowe, 24, is coming off a 2025 NCAA National Championship run with Western Michigan University and brings a steady, high-performance resume to the pro ranks.
College Career
Rowe spent the past three seasons at Western Michigan, where he compiled a 58-32-2 record, eight shutouts, a 2.41 goals-against average (GAA), and a .911 save percentage. His final season was his strongest—going 15-2-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .924 save percentage in 17 appearances, earning a spot on the NCHC Third All-Star Team. He was also part of the Broncos’ 2025 regular season and national championship wins.
Before transferring to WMU, Rowe played two seasons at the University of Wisconsin, where he won a Big Ten regular-season title in 2021. Rowe posted a .933 save percentage as a freshman and was named to the Big Ten All-Rookie Team. His NCAA career closed with a 69-42-3 record, 2.66 GAA, and .905 save percentage.
Juniors & International Play
Before college, Rowe developed his game in the U.S. National Team Development Program (NTDP) and the USHL, gaining experience against elite competition at a young age. In 2017–18, he backstopped the U.S. National U17 Team for 43 games, posting a 3–0–0 record with a .897 save percentage in international tournament play, and helping the team capture gold at the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
The following season, Rowe moved up to the U.S. National U18 Team, appearing in 30 games while also suiting up for 16 USHL contests with the USNTDP Juniors. His workload against top-tier opponents further sharpened his skills and composure in the crease.
In 2019–20, Rowe transitioned to a full-time USHL starter role with the Des Moines Buccaneers, logging 33 games with a .899 save percentage and building the stamina needed for a professional career. That same period also saw him continue his international success, earning a bronze medal at the 2019 IIHF U18 World Junior Championship, where he went 1–0–0 for Team USA.
Looking Ahead
The countdown is on for Rowe’s first taste of ECHL action, and Jacksonville fans won’t have to wait long to see their new netminder in action. The Icemen will open the 2025–26 season on the road in their first-ever clash with the expansion Greensboro Gargoyles on Saturday, October 18 at First Horizon Coliseum.
With a national champion now patrolling the crease, Rowe has the perfect stage to make an immediate statement—stepping into unfamiliar territory, silencing a new crowd, and showing the league exactly what he can do.
