ECHL: Greensboro Gargoyles Make Two Additions

Earlier today, the Greensboro Gargoyles announced that they have signed rookie forward Jordan Biro and defenseman Artyom Borshyov to contracts for the upcoming season.

Jordan Biro

Jordan Biro is a 25 year old forward who will be joining the Gargoyles from American International College. During his three seasons at American International College Biro scored 21 goals and added 45 assists for 66 points. Prior to that he also spent two seasons at Colorado College where he had 6 goals, and 9 assists for 15 points over two seasons.

Scott Burt is very excited about Biro’s potential having recently been quoted by the Gargoyles to have said “Jordan is a skilled forward with a high hockey IQ who sees the ice very well. He has the ability to create plays for his teammates, compete in all situations, and bring energy every night. His experience and vision will be a great addition to our forward group as we build this roster.” Look for Biro to be a key playmaker for the Gargoyles as they have emphasized goal scoring in their recent signings.

Artom Borshyov

Artoyom Borshyov is a Belarusian defenseman who recently made his professional debut the Rapid City Rush where he played in 15 games. Prior to his professional debut Borshyov played collegiately at Lindenwood University where he had two goals and two assists in 32 games. Before joining Lindenwood Borshyov spent four seasons with Lake Superior State University where he racked up three goals and 11 assists for 14 points. Borshyov won’t wow anybody with his offensive output, but he is an impressive force defensively, all while managing to excel at staying out of the box. Fans can expect Borshyov to have a lot of ice time against opponents’ top lines as he was clearly a priority as the first true defenseman the Gargoyles have signed.
