Greenville, SC—After a long wait with strived determination, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits have finally clinched a playoff spot in the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs. As of clinching, the Swamp Rabbits joined the Norfolk Admirals as recently placed playoff runners in the Eastern Conference. The bracket for the 16-team showdown beginning mid April is starting to shape up, as the Toledo Walleye, Kansas City Mavericks, Adirondack Thunder, Norfolk Admirals, and Greenville Swamp Rabbits have entered the race. Currently, the Swamp Rabbits are 48-18-4-1 for 65 games played, and they remain first in the Eastern Conference and South Division, being trailed by the Adirondack Thunder and Jacksonville Icemen. Greenville has a solid built roster of great forwards, d-men, and goalies. Forwards Carter Souch, Brett Kemp, and Anthony Beauchamp have recently stood out as top playmakers. Souch has played in 65 games putting up 23 goals and 32 assists for 55 points, and is the top point maker on the team. Goalie Jacob Ingham, recently contracted by the L.A. Kings, has been fantastic lately with a 2.59 GAA and 0.918 save percentage. Alongside him is Ryan Bednard, who was the 2023 ECHL All-Star representative for the Rabbits: he currently has a 2.82 GAA and 0.915 save percentage. The Swamp Rabbits have 10 games remaining in the regular season, giving them plenty of time to remain at the top of the conference and division or shrink to the bottom from different competitors.
