Greenville, S.C. — The ECHL 2024-25 regular season is less than 67 days away, and that means teams across the league are planning ahead for their full 36 game slate on home turf. Every club is different from what they plan for their fans on home ice. From events featuring special jerseys to live performances to celebrity appearances, all of these elements aim to captivate their audiences by providing the most enjoyable and cost-effective entertainment options. Today, August 12, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits announced their promo schedule for the upcoming season, featuring 23 promotional events at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

For game one at home ice, on October 18 against Orlando, the Swamp Rabbits will host their annual Opening Night game, which features giveaways, live performances, special guests, and player meet and greets. Usually, the team hands out specialty rally towels. As an annual but more widely known event, the Rabbits will host the seasonal Teddy Bear Toss on December 14 against Atlanta. The Swamp Rabbits’ latest Teddy Bear Toss from 2023 resulted in a crowd of over 6,000 fans, with over 16,000 stuffed toys donated. Another seasonal comeback night is Stick It To Cancer Night, which will be on January 10 against division rivals South Carolina. Stick It To Cancer Night is a special night that fans, coaches, staff, officials, and players hold dear to them, as it spreads positive awareness to those who battle or have battled the horrific disease of cancer. The club will have purple specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.

Star Wars, New Years Eve, NASCAR, Military Appreciation, First Responders, Stomper’s Birthday, Girls Night Out, Kids day, St. Patricks and Fan Appreciation Night will be returning, as well.

New Promotional Games

The new promotional game is School Day, which will be open only to students, faculty, and teachers at Bon Secours Wellness Arena and closed off to the public unless otherwise granted by the team. Teams across the league usually have this on their schedule, as the games start at an early time frame and propel interest in the sport among younger audiences. Another new promotional game is Kings Night on April 5, which is likely an LA Kings affiliate-themed game with specialty jerseys. The team had a similar game to that on New Year’s Eve with black, glow-in-the-dark jerseys.

The team also has a Johnstown Chiefs themed night with specialty jerseys on February 17. The Chiefs were a former ECHL team based in Pennsylvania that carried the franchise to Greenville in 2010 and ultimately became the Swamp Rabbits.

The Swamp Rabbits’ final promotional game will be their last regular season home game on April 6, 2025.
