ECHL: Grizzlies’ Forward Adam Berg Heading Overseas

Adam Berg, forward for the Utah Grizzlies, is set to head overseas after securing a contract to play for the Nottingham Panthers (EIHL) in the upcoming 2024-25 season. The Utah Grizzlies brought in Adam Berg through a trade with the Cincinnati Cyclones for future considerations in late November 2023. Before joining Utah, Berg appeared in eight games for Cincinnati, registering one goal and one assist. After being traded to the Utah Grizzlies, he proceeded to score 23 points in 50 regular-season games after tallying nine goals and 14 assists.

In the 2022-23 season, Berg’s played in 19 games, scoring four goals, adding two assists, for a total of six points with the Cyclones. During the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Berg netted two goals across 11 playoff games.

Before starting his professional career, Berg attended Brock University from 2018 to 2023. His most remarkable performance took place in his final year, in the 2022-23 season, when he managed to amass an impressive total of 29 points by scoring 15 goals and providing 14 assists in just 24 games. Furthermore, Berg also gained valuable experience playing in the WHL for Regina and Edmonton, as well as in the BCHL for the Chilliwack Chiefs during the 2017-18 season.

Berg is friends with another recent addition to the Panthers, forward Matt Alfaro. The two players skated together during the off-season in their hometown of Calgary. Berg also shares a second Panthers connection, having been coached by former Nottingham forward David Struch during his junior days in Regina.
