Denis Bellerose/Trois-Rivières Lions

The Idaho Steelheads have announced that they have re-signed 6’3″ forward Brendan Hoffmann for the 2025-26 season.

Junior Career

Brendan Hoffmann started his junior career in the 2017-18 season playing in the OJHL with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. He played in seven games, where he had one goal.

Hoffmann then went to the OHL, where he spent four seasons with the Erie Otters. Hoffmann played in 189 games with the Otters, where he had 44 goals and 30 assists for 74 points with 115 penalty minutes and a -9.

Professional Career

After completing his junior career, Hoffmann signed his first professional contract in the ECHL, joining the Reading Royals. Through his three seasons in the ECHL, Hoffmann has played with the Royals, Atlanta Gladiators, and Idaho Steelheads. In 193 ECHL games, Hoffmann has 47 goals and 59 assists for 106 points with 172 penalty minutes and a +6.

In the 2024-25 season with the Steelheads, Hoffmann played in 68 games, where he had 25 goals and 25 assists for 50 points with 63 penalty minutes and a +8.

Hoffmann had a career year in the 2024-25 season, having a career high in goals, assists, and points. He was Idaho’s leading goal scorer and was fourth on the team in points and fifth in assists. Hoffmann’s offensive breakthrough has made him a very lethal player on the ice for the Steelheads. On top of his offense, Hoffmann can play a very physical game, laying hits, playing in the corners, and forcing opponents off the puck. While he does not drop the gloves very often, Hoffmann is not afraid to when his team needs him to.
