ECHL: Indy Fuel Sign Forward Michael Marchesan

The Indy Fuel have added size and grit to their forward group with the signing of Michael Marchesan to a standard player contract (SPC) for the 2025–26 ECHL season. The 6’3” Marchesan joins Indy after two seasons with the Atlanta Gladiators, where he developed a reputation as a physical presence with an offensive upside.

Physical Presence and Grit During Time with Atlanta

Marchesan appeared in 53 games for Atlanta during the 2024–25 campaign, posting six goals and six assists for 12 points along with 62 penalty minutes and a -1 rating. The year before, he put up 12 goals and 10 assists over 58 games, finishing with 52 PIM. While his point totals dipped slightly last season, Marchesan remained a dependable forward who brought consistent energy and was a fixture on the forecheck.

Late in the 2024–25 season, Indy claimed Marchesan off waivers on March 30, but he did not dress for the team as the Fuel closed out their regular season. His signing now sets the stage for a full introduction to the Indy lineup in 2025–26.

FPHL Scoring Breakout Before ECHL Jump

Prior to turning heads in the ECHL, Marchesan made waves in the FPHL. He scored 34 goals and 24 assists for 58 points in 46 games with the Danbury Hat Tricks during the 2022–23 season. He added another 13 points in 10 playoff games, playing a major role in Danbury’s deep postseason run. He also made a brief three-game stop with the Binghamton Black Bears earlier that season.

What Marchesan Brings to Indy

Marchesan adds a unique combination of size, grit, and physical edge to the Fuel’s forward group. At 6-foot-3, the left-shot winger thrives on forechecking pressure, puck battles, and net-front presence. He offers versatility and plays with an intensity that should fit well in Indy’s style of play.

With Marchesan in the mix, the Fuel continue to build a lineup that blends toughness, depth, and experience for the 2025–26 campaign. The season is set to begin on Friday, October 17, when Indy hosts the Fort Wayne Komets at Fishers Event Center to open the year on home ice.
