
The Indy Fuel have announced that they’ve re-signed defenseman Nick Grima for the 2025-26 season. In his first full season in the ECHL, Grima put up two goals and nine assists for 11 points in 55 games. He would add one assist in three games during the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs. He becomes the fifth defenseman and 11th player to sign with the Fuel for the 2025-26 season.
Grima, 26, joined the Fuel at the end of the 2023-24 season, putting up one assist in three games at the end of the regular season. He earned his spot on the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoff roster, where he played in his first career playoff game. Prior to joining the Fuel, the Toronto, Ontario, native played three years in USports with his hometown team, the University of Toronto. In 67 games with the Varsity Blues, he put up nine goals and 32 assists for 41 points. Grima would lead all Varsity Blue defenseman in points during the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons. He would have a goal and seven assists for eight points in nine USports Playoff games.

The 6’0,198lb defenseman spent his junior career playing parts of five seasons in the OHL with the Peterborough Petes, Sarnia Sting, and North Bay Battalion. In 289 games, he would put up 13 goals and 94 assists for 107 points. During the 2018-19 season, he finished second on the Sting in PIMs (82). He would add a goal and three assists for four points in 23 OHL playoff games.
