ECHL: Iowa Heartlanders Re-Sign Fan Favorite Forward

Jason Rubin/Iowa Heartlanders

Coralville, Iowa- On June 27, the Iowa Heartlanders announced the re-signing of fan-favorite Yuki Miura. He is Iowa’s first signing of the 2024 offseason.

Miura, set to celebrate his 28th birthday in July, has been with the Heartlanders since he got his work permit in early November of 2021, making him one of two players still with the program since the inaugural season (Hunter Jones).

On Twitter/X, Yuki said that he is “excited to have another fun year with the Landers!” in English, and “引き続きチームの勝利に貢献できるよう、頑張ります” in Japanese, which translates to “I will do my best to help my team win”.

He has shown that dedication to winning he mentioned, only missing one game between 2022-23 and 2023-24, after his 2021-22 season was reduced to just 41 games.

In his three years with the team, the now-alternate captain has provided stability and flexibility to the lineup while recording 33 goals and 51 assists in his 184 games, which averages to just more than one point every two games. He has played well in every line he has been a part of and is not afraid to be the hardest-working player on the ice every time his number is called.

Fans are calling for the man in the #36 uniform to be given the Captaincy for the 2024-25 season.

Here are two of his prettiest goes in the Buck and Rose, including an overtime winner:
