Coralville, Iowa- The Iowa Heartlanders made two announcements on July 30th to bolster their attack for the 2024-25 season. Forward Dakota Raabe will return to the Landers for the upcoming season, and Parker AuCoin will join the Heartlanders, which you can read more about here.
Raabe, 27, is set to enter his fourth year in the ECHL and second with the Heartlanders. After 45 games in 2023-24 split between the Utah Grizzlies (33) and Iowa (12, cut short due to injury) and 21 points overall, Dakota will seek to have an impact more similar to his 2022-23 campaign, where tallied 37 points in 60 games, including one point in five playoff games.
Between the additions of AuCoin and Raabe, the Iowa Heartlanders now have 13 players on their roster, third behind Fort Wayne Komets and Trois-Rivieres Lions.
Derek Damon and his staff will likely start pivoting toward adding defensive talent to round out the roster, as well as working with their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild, and their two-way contracts to evaluate which players may be assigned to the Heartland.
Here is how the Iowa Roster looks so far:
Goaltenders (1): William Rousseau
Defensemen (4): Jules Boscq, Louka Henault, Bogdans Hodass, Chris Lipe
Forwards (8): Parker AuCoin, Nico Blachman, Will Calverley, Adam Goodsir, Yuki Miura, Jack O’Brien, Dakota Raabe, Jonny Sorenson
