
The Wheeling Nailers have announced that they’ve signed forward Jack Works for the 2025-26 season. Works joined the Nailers at the end of the regular season, where he put up three assists in 14 games. He would see three games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs, but was unable to find the scoresheet. Works becomes the fifth signing for the 2025-26 season for the Nailers and the fourth forward to join the team.
Jack Works, 24, began his Junior career playing in the AJHL, where he played parts of four seasons with the Okotoks Oilers. He would put up 65 goals and 60 assists for 125 points in 118 games. In 2020, he was named to the AJHL South All-Star Team. He would add three goals and four assists for seven points in 13 AJHL Playoff games.
The Yellowknife native would then take the NCAA route, spending time at the University of Denver and Michigan Tech. He would spend parts of two seasons in Denver, where he played in 15 games, recording an assist. In 2022, he would win a National Championship with the Pioneers. Works would spend the final three years of his eligibility at Michigan Tech, including spending the last season as the captain of the Huskies. He would put up 23 goals and 29 assists for 52 points in 105 games, and would pick up his only Hat Trick during the 2023-24 season in a game against Michigan State. The Huskies would win the CCHA Championship in his final year of eligibility.
