The Jacksonville Icemen are shoring up their blue line with the addition of Adrien Beraldo for the 2025–26 season. At 25, the Stoney Creek, Ontario native brings a physical edge, steady defensive presence, and a résumé that spans both the ECHL and AHL.
Professional Experience
Beraldo spent the past two seasons with the Toledo Walleye, where he became a reliable depth option on defense. In 2023–24, he appeared in 58 games, posting 11 points (1g–10a) and 115 penalty minutes while maintaining a +2 rating. He added four more games in 2024–25. His style of play—blocking shots, leaning on opponents in front of the net, and killing penalties—fit well into Toledo’s defensive rotation.
Before his time in Toledo, Beraldo skated in the ECHL with the Reading Royals and Iowa Heartlanders. He recorded three assists and 40 penalty minutes in 19 games with Reading during the 2022–23 season, and his first full pro campaign came in Iowa in 2021–22, where he logged 49 games, scoring four goals and 15 points while adding 84 penalty minutes. Both stints highlighted his ability to handle heavy minutes while providing a physical edge.
Beraldo has also earned opportunities in the AHL, skating in four games with the Chicago Wolves and six with the Iowa Wild. Though he didn’t record points at that level, he logged valuable minutes against stronger competition and proved he could adapt to faster, heavier play.
Junior Development (OHL)
Before turning professional, Beraldo played in the OHL with the Peterborough Petes, Kingston Frontenacs, and Niagara IceDogs. His most productive stretch came in 2019–20 with Niagara, where he registered 23 points (5g–18a) in 45 games. That offensive upside, paired with his willingness to play physically, helped set the tone for his professional career.
What He Brings to Jacksonville
At 6’0” and 183 pounds, Beraldo may not be the biggest defender on the ice, but he thrives in high-contact areas. He competes hard in front of the crease, plays with an edge along the boards, and is not afraid to drop the gloves when necessary. With over 140 ECHL games under his belt and more than 300 penalty minutes accumulated across four seasons, he brings toughness to Jacksonville’s defensive unit. Beraldo’s signing signals a focus on depth and grit—qualities that often become difference-makers in the second half of the season.
