ECHL: Jacksonville Icemen Make Two Deals On Deadline Day

The Jacksonville Icemen made two moves prior to the ECHL Deadline yesterday. They completed deals with the Idaho Steelheads and Reading Royals. Lincoln Erne will head to Jacksonville in a defenseman swap, while Reece Harsch will head the other way. Erne joins his third team in his rookie year after beginning the season with the Newfoundland Growlers and then being sent to Idaho in exchange for cash considerations. In 50 games this season, the 25-year-old defenceman has three goals and 14 assists for 17 points before joining the Growlers. The Minnesota native spent four years at Canisius College, putting up one goal and 12 assists for 13 points in 108 games. For the second time in just over five weeks, Harsch is switching teams as he heads back to the Western Conference after being acquired by the Icemen in February from Cinncinatti. In 33 games this season Harsch has three goals and four assists for seven points. The Alberta Native spent last season playing in the UK and began the year there before returning to North America, as he had four goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 60 games with the Fife Flyers.

Jacksonville would also acquire the rights to Brayden Guy from the Reading Royals in exchange for future considerations. Guy heads back to the Sunshine State after beginning the season with the Orlando Solar Bears before being acquired by Reading in November. In 40 ECHL games this season, the Ontario Native has put up six goals and five assists for 11 points and has played one game in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds; however, he has not seen any game action since March 1st. Guy had 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points in 55 games last season with the Solar Bears. The 23-year-old winger will stay with the Thunderbirds for the time being.
