The Jacksonville Icemen continue to build their roster for the 2024-25 season as they have re-signed forward Chris Grando. Prior to going pro, Grando spent five years at the NCAA level, including three years at Boston College and two years at Arizona State University, where he put up 26 goals and 38 assists for 64 points in 166 games and would be a part of the Eagles team that would win Hockey East during the regular season but would lose to Terriers in the Semi-Finals. He spent two years with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL where he put up 22 goals and 32 assists for 54 points in 115 games.
The New York Native joined the Icemen at the end of the 2022-23 season, scoring four goals and five assists for nine points in 15 games while putting up 15 goals and 31 assists for 46 points in 61 games during the 2023-24 seasons and winning the team’s Rookie of the Year Award. He has 19 goals and 36 assists for 55 points in 84 regular season games with the Icemen and has added one goal and two assists for two points in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games. Grando has played five years with Chris Brown, the captain of the Icemen, and has already signed with the team for the 2024-25 season. The 25-year-old forward becomes the fourth signing for the Icemen and the fourth forward to sign with the team for the 2024-25 season. With all the signings so far being forward, it will be interesting to see when the Icemen begin to build their blueline.
