The Jacksonville Icemen, the ECHL affiliate for the NHL Buffalo Sabers and AHL Rochester Americans, has announced that two players have been moved up to the AHL. Riley Fiddler-Schultz was recalled back to Rochester on Monday, March 12th. Fiddler-Schultz has played in 43 games this season, accumulating 37 points with 18 goals and 19 assists. According to General Manager Jason Karmanos, Fiddler-Schultz has signed a two-year contract with Rochester.
Jacksonville Icemen Oliver Nadeau has also been reassigned to the Rochester Americans by the Buffalo Sabers. Nadeau has accounted for 18 points this season with nine goals and nine assists during his 31-game span. With both Fiddler-Schultz and Nadeau being called to Rochester. The Jacksonville Icemen have received defenseman Noah Laaouan. Laaouan was obtained by the Rochester Americans from the Trios-Rivières Lions. With the Lions, Laaouan played 31 games, accounting for one goal and nine assists.
The Jacksonville Icemen have also claimed Jordan Timmons from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits through waivers. Timmons has played in 16 games this season with Greenville. He has accumulated three goals and one assist so far.
As these trades and moves continue, it will be interesting for fans to see how the organization will bond with new players. Fiddler-Schultz has been a key offensive player for the Icemen this season. Fiddler-Schultz was the 4th highest scorer on the team for points and goals. With that, Timmons will be facing his old team just days after being picked up. The Icemen look to put a win in the column this weekend as they face the Florida Everblades on March 15th at 7 pm. The Icemen will then face divisional lead, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, on Sunday, March 17th at 3 pm.
