
The Idaho Steelheads have announced that they have re-signed 5’10” forward Jade Miller for the 2025-26 season. Miller is the fourth forward and seventh player signed by the Steelheads for the 2025-26 season.
Junior and Collegiate Career
Jade Miller spent his junior career in the NAHL, where he played two seasons for the Austin Bruins. In 107 games, he had 37 goals and 33 assists for 70 points with 89 penalty minutes and a +13. In 22 playoff games, he had six goals and eight assists for 14 points. Miller was named to the NAHL Central All-Star Team in the 2015-16 season.
The Minto, North Dakota native then started his collegiate career, spending four seasons playing Division I hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. With the Bulldogs, Miller played in 127 games, registering nine goals and 25 assists for 34 points. Miller and the Bulldogs won the NCHC Frozen Faceoff in the 2016-17 and 2018-19 seasons on top of winning the NCAA Frozen Four Championship in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
Professional Career
After completing his collegiate career, Miller signed in the ECHL with the South Carolina Stingrays where he spent the first two seasons of his career before joining the Idaho Steelheads. Thus far, Miller has played in 274 ECHL games where he has 42 goals and 55 assists for 97 points. He has three goals and six assists with 16 penalty minutes and a +3 in 26 playoff games played. In the 2024-25 season with the Steelheads, Miller had seven goals and ten assists for 17 points in 71 games played.
While Miller is not the biggest player, his fight on the ice is. Miller has an incredible shot that is able to find the back of the net, but he is also able to play a very physical game. Miller can lay some big hits, allowing him to knock other guys off the puck and force turnovers. He is willing to do just about anything for his team, even if it means dropping the gloves every so often.
