The Florida Everblades have re-signed Jordan Sambrook for the 2025–26 season, reinforcing their defensive corps with a trusted, two-way blueliner who has been a staple of the team’s playoff runs. Sambrook, 26, returns for his fifth full season with Florida and seventh in the ECHL overall.

Playoff Performer and Steady Contributor

Sambrook played in 68 regular-season games for the Everblades during the 2024–25 season, recording six goals and 26 assists for a total of 32 points, along with a +36 rating. This performance marked the most productive season of his career in the ECHL. He continued his strong play in the playoffs, contributing eight points (2G, 6A) in 15 games, helping Florida advance deep into the postseason once again.

In the 2023–24 season, Sambrook played only 47 regular-season games. However, he made a significant impact during the playoffs, participating in 23 postseason games and scoring seven points, including two goals. The Florida team ultimately won the 2024 Kelly Cup Championship, with Sambrook contributing by playing top-four minutes throughout the team’s playoff journey.

Over the years, he has helped Florida capture the Brabham Cup in 2020–21 as regular-season champions and raise the Kelly Cup twice—first in 2021–22 and again in 2023–24. Initially selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the 5th round (137th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft, Sambrook is known for his composure, two-way play, and ability to step up in the postseason. He remains one of Florida’s most dependable and experienced defensemen.

ECHL Experience Across Four Clubs

Over the course of 259 regular-season ECHL games, Sambrook has recorded 13 goals and 77 assists, totaling 90 points. He has also accumulated 143 penalty minutes and boasts an impressive combined +64 rating. His professional career began with the Florida Everblades in the 2020-21 season. Notably, during the 2022-23 season with the Kansas City Mavericks, he had a strong performance, registering 28 points.

He’s also made short AHL appearances with the Charlotte Checkers (2021–22) and Henderson Silver Knights (2024–25), earning two games with each club on loan.

What Sambrook Brings to the Everblades

At 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 192 pounds, Sambrook is a right-shot defenseman known for his stability in the defensive zone, smooth puck movement, and reliable offensive instincts from the blue line. Coaches count on him during critical moments, including penalty kills and late-game scenarios. His playoff experience makes him one of the most seasoned postseason performers in the league.

His return gives the Everblades a familiar anchor on the back end as they aim for another deep run in 2025–26.
