ECHL: Joseph Nardi Heads Back Overseas

Reading Royals forward Joseph Nardi is heading back overseas, this time to the EIHL, as he’ll be joining the Manchester Storm. Nardi spent the majority of last season overseas. He began the season in Austria, putting up three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 26 games. The 28-year-old forward would then spend 11 games in Slovakia with HK Dukla Michalovce, where he had one goal. Nardi finished his season back in North America with the Reading Royals. He had 12 assists in 27 games to end the regular season and played in all four games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Nardi joins Robert Calisti as the only other Royal to take the overseas route since the season ended.

The Edmonton, Alberta, native spent his first season in the league with the Toledo Walleye, where he put up five goals and 18 assists for 23 points in 56 games. Nardi also saw four games with the Manitoba Moose during the 2022-23 season, where he picked up his first and only career AHL goal. He would spend parts of the next two seasons in Reading, where he would put up 17 goals and 45 assists for 62 points in 98 games.

Prior to going pro, Nardi spent time in the AJHL and NCAA. In his three years in the AJHL, he would put up 47 goals and 89 assists for 136 points in 161 games with the Whitecourt Wolverines. He would add eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points in 31 playoff games. Nardi would then take the NCAA route, playing five years at Northern Michigan University. In 170 games with the Wildcats, he put up 41 goals and 72 assists for 113 points.
