
The Bloomington Bison have announced that they’ve re-signed center Josh Boyer for the 2025-26 season. Boyer, 25, began his career with the Atlanta Gladiators, where he played 19 games during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, putting up a goal and an assist before being traded to the Bison. In 48 games with Bloomington, he would put up 11 goals and seven assists for 18 points in 48 games. He’s the third signing for the Bison this summer, and the second player returning to Bloomington for the 20245-26 season.
Josh Boyer would spend his junior career in the NAHL and the USHL. The Wasilla, Alaska, native would spend two seasons in the NAHL, where he recorded 28 goals and 32 assists for 60 points in 78 games with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and Brookings Blizzard. He would then spend a season in the USHL playing for the Madison Captiols and Sioux City Musketeers, where he put up 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points in 62 games. He would see action in two USHL playoff games with the Musketeers, but couldn’t find the scoresheet.
Boyer would then take the NCAA route, spending two years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha before spending his final three seasons of eligibility at St. Lawrence University. In 36 games with the Mavericks, he would put up three goals and two assists for five points. During his time with the Saints, he would put up 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 105 games.
