The Kalamazoo Wings have announced that they have signed goaltender Chad Veltri to a standard contract and goaltender Brent Moran to a PTO. This comes after the K-Wings would lose Hunter Vorva, who decided to play overseas.
Veltri, 26, joins the K-Wings after spending five years at the NCAA level, which included four seasons at Niagara University before spending his final season at Robert Morris University. Over the course of his collegiate career, the Fox Chapel, PA native went 42-59-11 with a 2.86 GAA, .910SV%, and five shutouts. He signed with the Fort Wayne Komets at the end of last season but didn’t make an appearance.
“My focus coming into camp is to compete and contribute right away,” Veltri said. “I’ve heard great things about how passionate the fans in Kalamazoo are and couldn’t be more excited to play in front of them.”

Moran, who has signed a PTO with Kalamazoo, has already signed a contract with the Quad City Storm in the SPHL. The 28-year-old goaltender has spent the majority of his career in the SPHL playing with the Fayetteville Marksmen and Quad City Storm, putting up a 41-18-4 record with a 2.72 GAA, .922SV%, and five shutouts. He would play in eight games with the Worcester Railers during the 2022-23 season, where he went 3-4 with a 4.28 GAA and .881SV%. The Orleans, Ontario native would be drafted by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Draft.
