The ECHL only have a couple weeks until their season begins! However, the Kalamazoo Wings were busy today, adding two new players to their roster. The K-Wings are adding defenseman Jaden Shields and goalie Dylan Myskiw (PTO) to bolster their roster.
This will be Jaden Shields’ second year in the ECHL. The 24 year old defenseman spent last season with the Tulsa Oilers. He played a total of three games for the Oilers last season. Shields put up three assists amongst those three games. The defenseman also appeared in a single playoff game for the Tulsa Oilers. Before joining the ECHL, Shields played at the collegiate level for Adrian College. Throughout his four years playing for the school, Shields played in a total of 110 games. Amongst those games, Shields scored a total of 24 goals and put up 97 assists, for a total of 121 points.
Joining Shields on the Kalamazoo Wings is Dylan Myskiw. This will be the goalies first year in the ECHL. Myskiw spent the past three years playing at the collegiate level for the University of Western Ontario. Myskiw’s save percentages over the past three seasons show notable variation: he recorded .878 in the 2021-2022 season, improved to .913 in the 2022-2023 season, and then fell slightly to .896 in the 2023-2024 season. He played in 48 games over three seasons (2021-24) at Western Ontario, concluding his college career with a goals against average of 3.31 and a save percentage of .902.
The Kalamazoo Wings are hard at work preparing for their home opener on October 12th against the Toledo Walleye.
