ECHL: Kalamazoo Wings Announce Kelly Cup Playoff Roster

The Kalamazoo Wings have recently revealed their 24-man roster for the upcoming Kelly Cup Playoffs. The roster comprises of seven active defensemen, with an additional one on the Reserve List, 11 forwards (including three on the Reserve List), and two goaltenders. On Friday at 7:15 PM ET, the Wings will take on the Toledo Walleye for game 1 of the Divisional Semifinal round. Here is the active roster for the game:

Active Roster: Hunter Vorva, G; Jonathan Lemieux, G; Jay Keranen, D; Chaz Reddekopp, D; Connor Walters, D; Chad Nychuk, D; Derek Daschke, D; Michael Joyaux, D; Jacob Nordqvist, D; Ted Nichol, F; Collin Adams, F; Quinn Preston, F; Jordan Seyfert, F; Ayden MacDonald, F; David Keefer, F; Luke Morgan, F; Evan Dougherty, F; Josh Passolt, F; Brian Chambers, F; Erik Bradford, F

Reserve List – Steve Holtz, D; Justin Taylor, F; Tanner Sorenson, F; Jack Olmstead, F

The goaltending department of the team is strong, with two solid options to choose from. Hunter Vorva led the team with 20 wins in 35 games played, averaging a 2.51 GAA (Goals Against Average) throughout the season. Jonathan Lemieux played more games, with 39 appearances, but had 17 wins with a 2.84 GAA. Both of them are great choices to use in the playoffs, and having two reliable goaltenders will allow the Wings to distribute the playing time evenly if they make a deep run in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Erik Bradford, a forward, has been the leading scorer for the Wings in all categories with an impressive 87 points, including 30 goals and 57 assists, in 72 games played. He will be crucial in setting the tone for the team’s match against the dominant Toledo Walleye in the first round of the playoffs. The next highest scorer on the team is Josh Passolt, another forward who scored 50 points during the year with 25 goals and 25 assists. The Wings have a strong defensive game, particularly when it comes to penalty killing, with a success rate of 82.6% this year. This will be a significant advantage against the high-powered offense of the Toledo Walleye.

Kalamazoo Wings 2023-2024 Regular Season Stats:

  • 18.6% Power Play
  • 82.6% Penalty Kill
  • 214 Goals Scored
  • 4 Shorthanded Goals
