
The Kalamazoo Wings have announced that they’ve re-signed goaltender Hunter Vorva for the 2025-26 season. Vorva, 29, began the year in the EIHL, playing two games with the Nottingham Panthers. He had a 3.85 GAA and .922 SV% before returning to K-Zoo. In 15 games with the Wings, the Kalamazoo, Michigan, native went 7-3-2 with a 2.75 GAA, .917SV%, and one shutout. In 78 career games with the K-Wings, he’s put up a 40-26-4 record with a 2.59 GAA, .919SV%, and five shutouts.
Vorva spent four years at the NCAA level. He would play in just nine games in his first year of eligibility as he spent seven games at Aurora University and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. His final three years would be spent at Marian University, where he put up a 52-17-18 record with a 2.09 GAA, .926SV%, and nine shutouts in 87 games with the Sabres. In 2019, he was named the NCHA Player of the Year. Vorva currently holds multiple records at Marian, which include the single-season wins (20), career SV% (.928), and career shutouts (8).
Vorva began his pro career overseas in France, playing in 10 games with Marseille during the 2020-21 season. He would put up a 7-4 record with a 2.69 GAA, .905SV%, and one shutout. He would go 2-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .950SV% in two playoff games. Vorva would return to North America for the 2021-22 season, where he played in 32 games with the Huntsville Havoc, putting up impressive numbers as he went 22-8-2 with a 1.93 GAA, .934SV%, and three shutouts. He would go 2-2 during the playoffs with a 2.90 GAA and .883SV%. Vorva led the SPHL in SV%, GAA, and would be named the SPHL Goaltender of the Year.
